View as PDF Berwyn, IL– Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak will be holding a property tax assessment appeal seminar Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the Berwyn Public Library for taxpayers seeking to appeal their 2016 property tax assessments. Berwyn Township is open for appeal August 22 through September 20, 2016.
The seminar is hosted by Jared Labell, Executive Director of Taxpayers United of America. The hour long session will educate taxpayers on how to file a successful tax appeal and address why property taxes go up when the value of your home goes down.
The seminar includes a presentation by Commissioner Dan Patlak explaining the appeal procedure at the Board of Review. Before the end of the evening, taxpayers will have an opportunity to work with staff from the Board of Review to address their specific questions and concerns.
This event is free to the public, and there is no fee to appeal at the Board of Review. Taxpayers are asked to bring a copy of their most recent tax bill.
